Kansas Elections

Fair and accurate elections are absolutely critical for a democratic republic like the United States.  You’d be hard-pressed to overstate how important this is for the health and survival of our country.

 

Even though there’s no evidence of widespread voter fraud, we still need to take the threat seriously.  I’m committed to making every aspect of Kansas elections as transparent as possible.  An unbroken paper trail in every aspect of our elections will show America and the world that they can trust Kansas to get it right.

 

But fair elections are more than closing the door to fraudulent voters.  It’s also about making sure the door is open to legitimate voters.  We need to do everything we can to make sure no legal voter is turned away.  At a time when federal election policy is becoming constraining, we need to be proactive about keeping our voter registration records up to date ahead of time so no one gets stuck in limbo on the next election day.

 

Folks on the Right are nervous about voter fraud.  Are votes being cast by people not on the books?  Meanwhile, folks on the Left are talking about voter suppression.  New laws are making it harder for some legitimate citizens to exercise their right to vote.

 

So who do you believe?

 

The answer is it doesn’t matter who you want to believe.  You take it all seriously, because our elections are too important to risk to a partisan judgement call.  Leave nothing to chance when our country is at stake.  I won't yield to the forces trying to cut away at our democracy.
